Although REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, and Restriction of Chemicals) is an European Union regulation that does not apply to US corporations, the requirements and deadlines will have significant impact on US producers who market their products globally.
Beyond the EU, REACH-like legislation is being implemented in several Asian countries and is currently under consideration by the US legislature. This course will review the major provisions of the REACH legislation, the timetables for required actions, lists and databases of chemicals regulated and under consideration for authorization, and major guidance materials and computerized tools that are available to assist industry in meeting the REACH requirements.
The course will also address issues such as the development of an internal program to address supply-chain issues for customers under REACH, as well as contributing information to the Substance Information Exchange Forums (SIEFs) that will be developing chemical dossiers to comply with the regulations.
